Backup Generators

Losing power to your home means spoiled food, a powerless home office, non-functioning appliances, heat waves in summer, freezes in winter, and for some, the loss of life-saving medical devices. Take back control of your life and regain the security you deserve with a Generac permanently installed whole-home generator. Generac’s whole-home generators automatically generate and transfer the power supply to your home when a power outage is detected. Whether the grid is down for a few hours or a few days, your home will have power 24/7.

Generac generators run on natural gas or liquid propane (LP) fuel. These units are installed outside, just like a central air conditioning unit. A home backup generator delivers power directly to your home’s electrical system and provides power to back up essential items like refrigerators, freezers, and life-saving medical appliances with the ability to size-up the unit to provide power to the entire home from air conditioning units, to tv’s, internet, and even luxury items like jacuzzis, saunas, and so much more.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Batteries vs. Generator, which is right for me?
When it comes to backup power, batteries offer sustainable energy storage that integrates with renewables, providing independence, flexibility, and instant backup during outages. Generators excel in high power output and extended run time, ideal for demanding situations or remote locations. Assess your needs, consider battery advantages of sustainability and scalability, and generator strengths in power output and fuel flexibility, to make an informed decision.

What about portable generators?
Portable generators are a great cost-saving option to consider and we install these frequently. During a power outage, you would roll out your generator to the manual transfer switch we have installed, start up your generator, plug your generator into the manual transfer switch outlet, and flip the manual transfer switch which would then power a limited number of circuits. The obvious advantage here is pricing whereas the cons are 1. This is a very manual process and should only be considered if you feel capable of performing these tasks in an emergency situation 2. You must be present to perform the actions required 3. Portable generators produce far less power and will therefore only protect a very limited number of electrical circuits.

Speaking of cost, how much does it cost to install a backup generator?
Every install has different requirements, whether that be the unit size, the distance from the gas main, the location the generator will be installed, the location the transfer switches will be installed, city ordinances and requirements, trenching work, concrete pouring…etc. With so many variables, it truly is not possible to provide a price. However, our team provides free on-site consultation – many of which we’re able to perform same-day. To schedule your onsite consultation, give us a call at (925) 684-8932.

Do you offer financing?
Yes, we offer multiple options of financing with up to 0% interest for 18 months and up to $0 down. Ask us about financing over the phone.

How soon can I get my generator installed?
A typical install timeline ranges from 2–4 weeks, but installation can take longer depending on inventory availability and permitting requirements.

What type of warranty does the generator have?
Generac standby generators all come with a (5) year limited warranty from Generac. Customers have the option to extend their warranties to (7) or (10) years for an additional cost.

Does my generator need maintenance?
Much like your family vehicle, your Generac generator requires regularly scheduled maintenance to continue to run when you need it most. As an authorized Generac maintenance provider, we offer a yearly service agreement which covers all scheduled maintenance required for your generator.
